CALL for ABSTRACT
Conference theme: Rethinking Engineering for Sustainability
The pursuit of a sustainable future demands a paradigm shift in engineering, moving beyond the conventional trade-offs between human well-being, economic growth, and environmental protection. Green engineering leads this transformation, offering innovative pathways to design systems that harmonize environmental sustainability with economic prosperity.
This conference serves as a platform to advance both scientific research and practical applications, fostering collaboration across academia, industry, and government. Together, we aim to accelerate the transition to sustainable systems by integrating sustainable and social design, greener production and consumption, policy innovation, business strategies, and advanced assessment methodologies.

Awards
GREENIE Awards – Call for Submissions
The GREENIE Awards recognize outstanding contributions to sustainability research and practice presented at the GREENIE 2025 conference. All award categories require an Extended Abstract Submissions before 31 July 2025 (template can be downloaded here), and winners will be announced during the conference closing ceremony. (Extended abstract submission is only required for award applicants. General presentation submission do not need to submit an extended abstract or full paper)
Submission guidelines:
- Three Awards are opened for application: GREENIE Poster Award, GREENIE Student Paper Award, and GREENIE Best Business Practice Award.
Authors who wish to apply for the award must select the award application option at the time of abstract submission. - Full paper requirement: A complete manuscript (including abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions, references, figures and tables with captions) must be submitted for evaluation.
- The work submitted for the award must be original and must not have been published or accepted elsewhere before the conference. The full paper will be used solely for award review purposes and will not be published in any form.
- Format: The paper should follow the conference standard formatting guidelines.
1. GREENIE Poster Award
Open to all registered conference participants.
Both students and professionals from academia, industry, and other sectors are encouraged to apply.
This award honors exceptional poster presentations that showcase innovative research and contribute to the advancement of sustainability.
Selection Process: Finalists will be chosen based on the quality of their full paper submission. During the conference, the judging panel will assess posters based on scientific rigor, clarity of presentation, and the presenter’s ability to effectively communicate their research.
2. GREENIE Student Paper Award
Open to students only.
This award recognizes outstanding research presented by students in oral sessions, encouraging high-quality academic contributions in sustainability studies.
Applicants must present their work in an oral session.
Selection Process: A panel of experts will evaluate submissions based on originality, scientific significance, and contribution to the field. Shortlisted candidates will be assessed further during their oral presentations at the conference. Presentation quality, clarity, and engagement with the audience will also be considered.
3. GREENIE Best Business Practice Award
First author or presenter MUST from a private-sector company.
The award is given to the company implementing or evaluating the practice.
This award recognizes outstanding contributions from companies demonstrating innovative and impactful sustainability practices. It aims to highlight real-world applications that drive environmental and social benefits.
Selection Process: Entries will be reviewed based on their practical impact, innovation, and alignment with sustainability goals. Finalists will be invited to present their case studies at the conference, where judges will assess their real-world applicability and business value.
Abstract Submission Terms and Conditions
- Abstract Submission Requirements
- The abstract must be written in English.
- The length must not exceed 300 words and should be in plain text format (no images, tables, or special formatting).
- The content should clearly convey the research objectives, methodology, key findings, and significance in relation to the conference themes.
- Eligibility for Submission
- The abstract must be original and relevant to the conference themes.
- The submitting author must have the right to present the work.
- All co-authors must approve the submission.
- Originality and Plagiarism
- The abstract must be the author’s original work.
- Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
- Authorship and Co-Authors
- The submitting author ensures all listed co-authors have contributed to the work.
- The submitting author is responsible for communication with the organizing committee.
- Any disputes over authorship must be resolved before submission.
- Copyright and Usage Rights
- The author(s) retain copyright but grant the conference organizers the right to publish the abstract in conference proceedings, websites, or promotional materials.
- Authors must acknowledge any copyrighted materials used within their abstract.
- Review Process and Acceptance
- Submission does not guarantee acceptance.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee and may be accepted, rejected, or recommended for revision.
- The decision of the review committee is final.
- Presentation Requirements
- Accepted abstracts must be presented at the conference (oral/poster).
- The presenting author must register for the conference by a specified deadline.
- Withdrawal and Modifications
- Authors may withdraw their abstract before the final submission deadline.
- After the deadline, withdrawals will not be permitted unless in exceptional cases.
- No major changes (e.g., authorship, title, or content) are allowed post-submission unless approved by the committee.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection
- Authors’ contact details will be used for conference-related communication only.
- No sensitive data should be included in abstracts.
- Ethical Considerations
- Research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must comply with ethical standards.
- Authors should disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Liability and Disclaimer
- The conference organizers are not responsible for any errors, omissions, or misinterpretations in submitted abstracts.
- The author bears responsibility for accuracy, permissions, and ethical compliance.
- In case of unforeseen circumstances, the organizers reserve the right to modify submission terms.
